New monument to Cork Cumann na mBan war heroes unveiled in the city
A new monument was unveiled in Cork this weekend to honour two brave Leeside women who played instrumental roles during the Irish War of Independence.
The memorial stone was officially unveiled by Lord Mayor Deirdre Forde on Easter Saturday the 8th of April 2023.
Jim presented the Lord Mayor with a copy of his book ” The Hegartys of the Laurels” – a story of unsung heroism.
